Privacy Aware Robotics at HRI 2024
We are excited to invite you to participate in the Privacy-Aware Robotics Workshop at ACM/IEEE InternationalConference on Human Robot Interaction (HRI) 2024
As social robots become more integrated and accepted in human spaces, they need to be trusted to handle information about people adequately, which means matching users’ real world privacy expectations and normative standards. We seek to bring together researchers who are interested in addressing one or more of the following questions/themes across different contexts:
We seek to bring together researchers who are interested in addressing one or more of the following questions/themes across different contexts:
•User: What are the dynamic privacy needs of users in everyday social environments? How do these interactions and the boundaries users draw inform the development of robotic applications?
•Engineer: What are the engineering limitations to privacy-aware robotics in information-rich environments and what are some potential solutions?
•Society: What are the broader legal and ethical privacy challenges for social robotics research and adoption, considering transparency, consent, and intervention?
