The International Conference on Automation Technology has been held annually since 2004. The conference focuses on the field of automation research, spanning diverse areas including intelligent manufacturing, smart healthcare, robotics, sensors, and artificial intelligence. Its scope covers the full spectrum of automation technologies, from cutting-edge sensing devices to downstream applications. Over the years, it has become a flagship academic conference for automation professionals, attracting at least 300–400 attendances annually, including professors, researchers and graduate students from academia. In 2026, Automation 2026 conference will be hosted by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), with co-organization by Chinese Institute of Automation Engineers (CIAE) and the National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). The conference will focus on next-generation automation technologies driven by generative AI.

With technical sponsorship from IEEE, this event anticipates that its proceedings will be indexed in leading databases such as Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), Ei Compendex, DBLP, and Google Scholar.
