The scope of the Symposium is the field of interest of the IEEE OES, which encompasses all aspects of science, engineering, and technology that address research, development, and operations pertaining to all bodies of ocean. This includes system design and testing, and operational systems to sense, explore, understand, develop, use, and responsibly manage of the ocean.

IEEE Canadian Atlantic Ocean Symposium (CAOS) is technically sponsored by IEEE. The proceedings  of this event are likely to be indexed in  prominent databases such as Scopus, Web of Science (WoS), Ei Compendex, DBLP, Google Scholar, and many others.
