Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity in Childhood and Adolescence: A Global Forum on Development, Health, and Rights
This global forum will showcase the current state of developmental science as it relates to LGBTQ+ children and adolescents, with two primary objectives: (1) to advance and innovate developmental theories and methodologies, and (2) to confront global sociopolitical challenges impacting the health and rights of LGBTQ+ youth—especially transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
As the flagship event in a multi-year strategic initiative, the forum will bring together researchers, advocates, and policymakers from across the globe. In the lead-up to the event, we will establish an international advisory board to guide planning efforts and oversee the formation of cross-national working groups focused on key themes such as education, family dynamics, and healthcare. These groups will meet virtually in advance to foster collaboration and build a strong foundation for engagement at the forum.
