XX International Botanical Congress (IBC)
The International Botanical Congress (IBC) is the conference with the longest history in plant science (since 1900), and it is held only every six years (https://www.iaptglobal.org/iabms-history). It is also a large event with a large number of participants (e.g., 6850 in the last edition, the XIX IBC, held in Shenzhen, China 2017). It is an exceptional forum for a wide range of topics related to plant research, including systematics, ecology, evolution, conservation, genetics, plant uses, global change, physiology, etc. It includes a variety of activities, such as invited plenaries and keynote lectures, popular talks, (over 250 symposia), poster presentations, mixers, field trips, and various other activities aimed at maximizing scientific exchange and social interaction among participants.
